Further to what we already know, there has been some new information released by Rosemont officials.
If you’re not already aware of what information we do know then read it here.
Rosemont spokesman Gary Mack said police will show the surveillance footage from the hotel to Jenkins’ mother, Tereasa Martin, on Thursday. “Now that our detectives have had the chance to look at it, we’re hopeful it will be helpful to her,” he said. The footage will not be released to the public until the investigation is finished, which could be weeks away considering the autopsy and other tests.
Rosemont police have released a statement which stated that they are reviewing footage from 47 surveillance cameras, as well as those posted on social media. They have also interviewed eight people who were at the hotel, they did not specify whether those people were at the party or just other guests/members of staff, and they also interviewed four others “who were involved in some way.” They are also seeking to locate and interview four other people who were at the party.
Due to the lack of information and slow pace of the investigation, several people protested outside of the hotel on Wednesday night; including several of Jenkins’ relatives. Relatives, including Jenkins’ sister, were demanding answers.
Jenkins’ sister also revealed some more information, such as details of an emergency button inside the double freezer than Jenkins was found in; that she believes her sister would’ve pressed, when it got cold, if she was inebriated and went into the freezer on her own accord.
