CAT BAR in Barcelona (Vegan)

Let’s keep this short and sweet… Or savoury.

I would like to recommend Cat Bar in Barcelona for all of the vegans AND non-vegans out there. If you like big delicious flavoursome burgers then this is the place for you! If you are a fan of potatoes in any form (chips, jackets, wedges etc.) then this is also the place for you! The location for Cat Bar is Carrer de la Bòria 17, 08003 Barcelona, Spain; which is a super chilled hippie-ish side road. It is also just a 13 minute walk from the Passeig de Lluís Companys (or half that time if you know where you’re going and aren’t using a map). The area surrounding Cat Bar is so relaxed and full of culture. It gave me an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia because it reminded me of Moseley Village (Birmingham) at night; which is where I grew up.

You will also see a lot of dogs (with owners) which is great if you’re a dog person but if you’re like me and are petrified of dogs then keep your eyes peeled.

I visited Cat Bar twice. On the first visit I tried the Hemp Burger with fries. Fries turned out to be small, and thick, potato cubes and they were amazing! The burger was absolutely delicious as well. It was my first time trying a hemp burger and the flavour reminded me of barbecued food. On the second visit I tried the Black Bean Burger with fries again. I’m already a black bean fan so I knew that I would like it. The black beans were accompanied with herbs and all of the flavours accentuated one another very well. The burgers are very big so you may not even finish it but you’ll certainly be full.

Cat Bar burgers are the best vegan burgers I’ve had thus far!

The bar also sells a wide range of beers. I don’t drink alcohol so I didn’t try any of them but if beer is your thing then I’m sure you’ll find something lovely to accompany your food.

Oh wait… How could I forget to mention the LIVE MUSIC?! There is a piano in the middle of the bar/restaurant and people come in and play live music. I’m not sure whether the individuals are just locals who can play or actual artists in the area but they are extremely talented. There is nothing but good vibes throughout Cat Bar and visiting there was a very nice experience for me. I went with my sister before she turned vegetarian and even she enjoyed it and wanted to go back!

Below I’ll list the OPEN HOURS…

  • Mon 6:30 pm-11:00 pm
  • Tue 6:30 pm-11:00 pm
  • Wed 6:30 pm-11:00 pm
  • Thu 12:30 pm-11:00 pm
  • Fri 12:30 pm-11:00 pm
  • Sat 12:30 pm-11:00 pm

Hours may vary, so call to confirm.

NB. Cat Bar is a small place so I wouldn’t recommend to a large group, I’d say 2-4 people maximum should go together in order to get a table together.

Not as short as I intended but I hope this post helps anyone visiting, or living in, Barcelona and wants to try somewhere new.

Thank you for reading.
